Pokémon Games

-Main Series Games-

Pokémon Red and Blue:

Pokémon Red and Blue were released for the Game Boy on September 18th, 1998. It was the first Pokémon game to be released outside of Japan, and became an instant hit. Such a hit, that it quickly became the best selling games for the Game Boy, despite being released near the end of the handeld's lifetime. It also became the best-selling role playing games (RPGs) of all time.
The game had you taking control of Red, an 11 year-old boy  who set out on an adventure to collect the 8 Gym badges of Kanto, and eventually becoming the champion. An original idea from Nintendo for once.

Pokémon Yellow:

Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition was released as the 3rd instalment to the Pokémon series, and when it was released, Red and Blue was one of the most popular games in America. Pokémon Yellow was the 4th Pokémon game released in Japan, as Red and Green came first, followed my Blue and Yellow.
Yellow was released in Japan to give Game Freak time to Develop Pokémon Gold and Silver, the sequels to Red and Blue. Yellow was based slightly closer to the Pokémon Anime, as the player had only one starter, a Pikachu. However, the player could obtain all three original starters at various locations.
